As a queer, gender-neutral trauma care professional, Kate serves people with a diversity of marginalized intersections through embodiment and movement practices. Integrating empathic attunement, curiosity, and a gentle strength, they skillfully weave emotionally charged situations with an understanding of complex trauma, cultural humility, and embodiment to facilitate practical yet transformational experiences.
In social service agencies, Kate designs and facilitates multi-layered yoga and TCTSY programs to complement the clinical work of substance use treatment while offering trauma training and immersive self-care workshops for caregiving professionals. In private practice, Kate collaborates with individuals in small affinity groups. She listens to their needs, is sensitive to the nuances they communicate, and walks alongside people on their chosen paths.
Kate has extensive training in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), a verified clinical treatment for complex trauma and PTSD*, re-certifying annually through continuing education and supervision. She holds additional certifications in Kripalu Yoga and Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, along with engaging in multiple complementary workshops and training focused on accessibility, the trans/nonbinary experience, and restorative justice. In addition to supporting people living into experiences of social, political, and systemic oppression, substance use, housing insecurity, human trafficking, and sexual assault, Kate expands her impact as a Certification Mentor for the 300-hour TCTSY Certification Program at the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE) in Boston.
Grounded in lived experience and fueled by a passion for a more honest, equitable and inclusive, compassion-filled world, Kate is committed to the rigorous exploration of self-study through an anti-oppressive lens. She's passionate about supporting others, believing each individual is their own expert and focusing on creating transformative opportunities where people can be empowered to connect to themselves, others, and the world around them.
